Faculty Office: Marriage Licence Allegation transcript

Robert Browning (the poet), living in the parish of St Pauls, Deptford, county of Kent, and Elizabeth Barrett, living in the parish of St Mary le Bone, London (county of Middlesex). 11 September 1846.
The licence allowed them to marry in either parish.

APPEARED PERSONALLY Robert Browning

Saint Paul Deptford in the County
Kent a Batchelor of the age of
twenty one years and upwards --------------

and prayed a Licence for the Solemnization of Matrimony either in
the Parish Church of
                                Saint Paul Deptford or
Saint Mary lebone aforesaid-----------------
in the County of Middlesex --------------------------  

between him and Elizabeth Barrett Moulton Barrett
of the said Parish of
                              Saint Mary le bone a
Spinster of the age of twenty one years and
upwards ------------------------------------------


and made Oath that he believeth there is no impediment of
Kindred or Alliance, or of any other lawful Cause, nor any
Suit commenced in any Ecclesiastical Court, to bar or hinder
the Proceeding pf the said Matrimony, according to the Tenor
of such Licence. And he further made Oath that they the
said Robert Browning and Elizabeth Barrett Moulton Barrett
Spinster have -------------------------

had their usual Places of Abode within the said Parishes of
Saint Paul Deptford and Saint Marylebone
respectively -----------------------------------------------

for the Space of Fifteen Days last past.
