You can search the Teachers’ Registrations by name, and by year of registration or year of first teaching position.
| Date of registration |
The date of registration was often much later than when the person started teaching, especially for those registering in the early years, so you may find it more helpful to use the year when they first taught. |
| Search results |
| The results of a search will show the full name, including the maiden or alternative surname, the year of registration, year of first experience, and place they were last known to be living at (usually town and county). Alongside each record is a “view image” button, which allows display of the original record. When you display the image of a record you can also browse through adjacent records.
| Missing records |
| Please remember that about 1˝% of the original records are missing. Also although the records are all original types documents and most are very clear, the quality does vary. So if you find an image difficult or impossible to read this is due to the quality of the original.
| Viewing the images |
| If you use Internet Explorer and have downloaded the AlternaTIFF viewer, the images will display automatically within your browser, and you will be able to zoom in to view the image details. Otherwise you can view the images with most image viewers, including Kodak's Imaging for Windows®, which is provided with Microsoft Windows.
